Dr Cynthia Folio

Composer of When The Spirit Catches You, a piece about living with epilepsy from a parent's perspective. This was recorded by the contemporary ensemble Relache. Dr Folio is Dr of Composition at Temple University in Pennsylvania. The work came about following conversations with Dr Steven C. Schachter (Harvard), and features the voice of Cynthia's daughter explaining her own experience of seizure. This piece and corresponding discussions informed my MA dissertation and the composition of the Ictal Variations album.
